First User had to import the file or video that heshe wanted to add text to the timeline. 

Steps to create a text layer- 

• Choose the Type Tool, and ensure to use the capital letter T on the timeline. Now, Tap on the video in the program monitor that create a graphic layer. 

• On video the text box will be created, and on timeline the graphic layer will shown there. For the text layer you can also press the ‘CTRL+T’ on windows, or ‘CTRL+T’ on Mac. 

• By just dragging users can easily select the duration of the text layer.

• Choose all the text by using keyboard shortcuts ‘CTRL+A’ on Windows, and ‘CMD+A’ on Mac.

• Switch to the effect controls tab, and there you will get an array of options. 

• Switch down to see the Text option, and simply tap on it. 

• This tab has the option to change its font, size, and also has the option to change the normal text to bold, italics, underline, etc.

• Just click on the fill tab for selecting your favorite color. 

• Below the fill tab, there is the option to apply a stroke to your text to give it more prominence. 

• Users can also add background, and give the text a shadow effect to give it more depth.
