How To Use Speech To Text on Android

Using speech-to-text on Android is quite straightforward and can be done through the following steps:

1. Ensure you have Gboard: Most Android devices come with Gboard, Google's default keyboard, pre-installed. If not, you can download it for free from the Google Play Store.

2. Activate voice typing:

• Open the Settings app on your Android device.
• Navigate to System > Languages & input (or General management > Language and input on some devices).
• Tap on Virtual keyboard.
• Select Gboard.
• Choose Voice typing.
• Toggle Use voice typing to on.

3. Start using speech-to-text:

• Open any app where you can type text, such as messaging or note-taking apps.
• Tap on the text field to bring up the keyboard.
• Locate the microphone icon on the keyboard, usually positioned on the top right corner.
• Touch and hold the microphone icon until you see "Speak now" displayed.
• Start speaking clearly and concisely. The speech will be automatically converted to text and appear in the text field.
• To stop dictation, tap the microphone icon again.

• You can also use voice typing to replace a single word. Simply touch and hold the word you want to change, tap the microphone icon, and speak the new word.
