Just follow the steps to check if your Android phone supports this new feature, follow these steps. 

• Switch to phone’s Settings>scroll down, and choose Google.

• Click on Device Connections.

• Nearby Share option will be found on the next page.

• Move ahead, and click on Nearby Share to customize the settings.

• Now turn on or off. Users can also select a Google account, and set the device name with device visibility, along with the control on the data usage. 

Steps to use & transfer files:

• Go with the file that you want to share, click on share icon>Nearby Share. Phone will start searching for devices nearby. 

• Another person will also need to enable Nearby Share on their Android phone.

• Once the phone detects the receiver’s phone, click on their device name. The receiver will need to click on Accept to start the transfer. 

• The files that have been shared, the transfer will be complete.
